You may not be aware of these things, but I am going to give you 3 health myths that you guys over 50 like to use as an excuse to keep you from getting fit. Now, there are some legitimate reasons for why it is harder to get in shape as you get older, but today we are going to focus on the 3 excuses/myths for you guys over 50. Naturally, we want to find excuses as we get older.

It does take longer to heal and recover as you get older, and this is also from workouts, not just an injury. Another legitimate excuse is that there are more responsibilities as you get older, whether it is work, family, or something else. So, there are real reasons that apply for us older men. Now, here are the 3 health myths for men over 50.

Myth #1: BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY. I am not saying, don’t eat breakfast. I am just saying that it is not very important, like people say it is. A lot of guys who are in shape, or are getting in shape, skip breakfast. A reason for this is called INTERMITTENT FASTING, and most eating windows have you start eating around lunch time.

Myth #2: YOUR TESTOSTERONE LEVELS “HAVE TO” DRAMATICALLY DECLINE. Our testosterone levels do decrease over time as we get older, but it is not a drastic drop. There are a lot of things we can do to minimize the loss of testosterone over time, or slow it down. These are lifestyle changes, a combination between nutrition and exercise.

Myth #3: CARDIO. Cardio is not the only way to lose fat when you get older. You don’t need that boring steady-state cardio. If you are trying to lose fat and you hit a plateau then I recommend you try doing H.I.I.T CARDIO. This is when you do short interval sprints, and we have lots of videos that you can use to learn more about HIIT Cardio.This also creates an afterburn effect, which means you will be burning fat long after your workout.
