Alberta Premier discusses opposition to just transition, health care, sovereignty | FULL

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith held a press conference on Tuesday, where she discussed various topics including her opposition to Justin Trudeau’s just transition plan, health care options and the Alberta sovereignty act.

Smith held the availability saying she wanted to give the media an opportunity to ask “questions directly on issues.”

The premier started the conference by talking about her government’s attempts to help Albertans with affordability and an update on the economy before stating her opposition to Justin Trudeau’s just transition.

“When I hear the words just transition, it signals eliminating jobs,” Smith said. She also went on to discuss comments made about Alberta moving forward with health care reform without more funding from the federal government.

“I can’t stop doing reform because the federal government doesn’t want to partner with us. Great if he comes to the table with more funding support. But we’re not going to stop with the reforms that we’re doing.”
