Charges for GP appointments and A&E called for by ex-health secretary

The former health secretary Sajid Javid has called for NHS patients to be charged for GP appointments and for visits to Accident & Emergency.

Former banker Mr Javid is not standing at the next election, but says that there needs to be “a grown-up, hard-headed conversation” about revamping the health service.
