What are the benefits of green cabbage juice?

Green cabbage contains 57% of your recommended daily intake of vitamin K compared to 28% in red cabbage. Vitamin K helps your blood to clot and it regulates the mineralization of your bones.

What is better green cabbage or red cabbage?

Red cabbage has 10 times more Vitamin A than green cabbage. Both types of cabbages contain vitamin A in the form of beta-carotene that gets converted into vitamin A in your body and helps to keep your eyes, skin and immune system healthy. One cup of red cabbage will give you 33% of your daily recommended intake of vitamin A, whereas 1 cup of green cabbage will only give you 3% of your daily recommended intake of vitamin A.

You will get more vitamin C from red cabbage. One cup of red cabbage has 51 milligrams of vitamin C, whereas one cup of green cabbage has 37 milligrams. (Men need 90 milligrams a day, women need 75 milligrams).

Red cabbage has double the iron as green cabbage with 0.7 milligrams compared to 0.4 milligrams. Woman need 18 milligrams of iron a day whereas men need only 8 milligrams. So it is not an overly significant source. (Resource: http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/health-benefits-red-cabbage-vs-green-cabbage-5647.html)

Let’s focus on a juice for your eyes today with the red cabbage being a great source of vitamin A.

Research shows that you can reduce your risk of cataracts, glaucoma and macular degenerative diseases if you eat a diet rich in antioxidants to protect your eyes from free radical damage. Carrots, spinach and blueberries are fantastic. Minimize meat and dairy products, refined and fried foods, sugars and sweeteners.

Juice Recipe for Eye Health:
1 cup of red cabbage
1/2 cup of watercress (high in vitamin A)
2 carrots (decrease risk of cataracts and macular degeneration)
